Chop saws are equally at home in the workshop and on site. Chop saws are available in two types, abrasive disc and TCT blade versions, the abrasive disc chop saw is the most economical cutting quickly and efficiently with cheap replaceable abrasive discs. The only drawback with the machine is it cuts 'hot' therefore you get discolouration and burrs once cut. The TCT blade chop saw is a far better machine, cutting quicker and straighter with very little sparks and discolouration of the work and also with no burrs. The only drawback with the machine is the blades are expensive so if the machine is mistreated when cutting the expense of replacing the TCT blades outweighs the advantages. Both types of chop saw have mitre functionality.
