Straight polisher grinders where originally used with grinding wheels for heavy duty stock removal of steel. Since then they are now more often mounted with a 'false nose' spindle which enables the machines to be loaded with satin web mops or polishing mops making a very portable polishing machine. For occasional polishing and polishing on site the straight polisher grinder is the prefered machine compared with the flexible shaft polishers.
