Our hire fleet has an extensive range of Plasma cutters ranging from our very small 8mm/12mm single phase plasma cutters to the large 100amp Plasma's. Plasma cutting was originally invented to cut metals that flame cutting could not, such as stainless steel, Aluminium and Copper but when compared to other methods of cutting steel, provide a very neat and accurate cut for mild steel too. As with air arc, the plasma stream is focused on a very small area melting the metal while the gas blows the molten metal away. Despite the similar methods Plasma is considerably neater and less noisy than air carbon arc gouging. Please remember Plasma's can also gouge in addition to cutting.
